TANSY
I ride the wind
over mountains,
And gather herbs under the moon,
I fling the rainbows for fountains,
And dance with my shadow at noon.
Speedwell,
Eyebright,
Sorrel and parsley so true-
Heartsease,
Aconite,
Lambsquarter, comfrey and rue.
Ride with me over the snowline,
Wander with me on the moor,
Dance with me under the rainshine,
Shiver with me in the hoar.
Gentian,
Foxglove,
Clover and Mint for the page-
Hawthorn,
Lads'love,
Horehound, laburnum and sage.
Kiss with me under the willow,
Love with me under the pine,
Lavender sweet in thy pillow,
Bind to me and shalt be mine.
Dogrose,
Bedstraw,
Pimpernel bright for the lord-
Stonecrop,
Hellebore,
And Tansy shall be thy reward.
Be true to me, love, as we ramble,
And keep thy lips ever for mine,
Thy wits shall I fain never scramble,
Nor dose with a poison thy wine.
Stichwort,
Wild thyme,
Valerian dark for the knight,
Teasel,
Brooklime,
And violet for our delight.
